Dr. Daniel Dugandzic is an experienced specialist in traumatology and orthopaedics. He has acquired his extensive training and many years of professional experience in renowned hospitals in Austria. His training centers and previous workplaces include the Lorenz Böhler Trauma Hospital, the Vienna General Hospital (AKH), the Rudolfstiftung, the Evangelical Hospital Vienna, the St. Pölten Regional Hospital and the Mistelbach Regional Hospital.

The doctor collects information about the patient’s medical history, symptoms and previous injuries. This helps to better understand the patient’s state of health and to make an initial suspected diagnosis.
Various examinations such as X-rays, MRI or ultrasound are prescribed to determine the exact cause of the symptoms. The doctor then discusses the results and suggests treatment methods.
An individual treatment plan is drawn up depending on the diagnosis. This may include conservative measures such as physiotherapy, infiltrations, infusions, shock wave therapy, or surgical interventions if necessary. Progress is reviewed regularly.
In our practice, we offer a comprehensive range of orthopaedic treatments, carried out by an experienced specialist in traumatology and orthopaedics. Our range of services includes manual medicine, in which special techniques are used to diagnose and treat functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system. We also focus on conservative orthopaedics, in which non-surgical methods are used to relieve pain and improve mobility.
These diverse approaches enable us to offer our patients individual and holistic care that is tailored to their specific needs.
With the move to our new premises at Spallartgasse 19, we have expanded our practice and extended our range of services. In addition to physiotherapy, we now also offer highly qualified orthopaedic treatments. Orthopaedics is an important medical specialty that deals with the health and functionality of the musculoskeletal system. It treats a wide range of complaints and illnesses, from acute injuries such as broken bones and sprains to chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis and back pain. By using modern diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orthopaedics aims to alleviate pain, improve mobility and increase the patient’s quality of life in the long term.
Orthopaedics is a medical specialty that deals with the diagnosis, treatment, prevention and rehabilitation of diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system. This includes bones, joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments. Orthopaedic surgeons treat acute injuries such as fractures and sprains as well as chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatism and back pain.
They use a variety of methods, including physical therapy, medication, injections and surgery, to improve patients‘ mobility and quality of life. The aim of orthopaedics is to alleviate pain, correct misalignments and restore the function of the musculoskeletal system.
Orthopaedics is used for various diseases and complaints of the musculoskeletal system. These include acute injuries such as broken bones, sprains and torn ligaments as well as chronic illnesses such as osteoarthritis, rheumatism and osteoporosis. Orthopaedic treatment is also required for back pain, slipped discs and sciatica. Sports injuries, tendonitis and overuse injuries to muscles and joints also fall within the scope of orthopaedics.
Deformities such as scoliosis, flat or splayed feet and deformities of the hands and feet are other conditions that are treated by orthopaedists. The aim is to alleviate pain, improve functionality and increase the patient’s quality of life.
In the orthopaedic examination procedure, the doctor begins with an anamnesis interview to record the patient’s medical history and current complaints. This is followed by a physical examination, during which the doctor checks posture, mobility, muscle strength and reflexes. Imaging procedures such as X-rays, MRI or ultrasound may be used to clarify the diagnosis.
In some cases, blood tests or special functional tests are also carried out to rule out inflammatory or systemic diseases. The aim of the examination procedure is to identify the exact cause of the symptoms and initiate suitable treatment.
Orthopaedic treatment comprises several measures that are individually adapted depending on the diagnosis. Typically, treatment begins with conservative methods such as physiotherapy, in which targeted exercises and manual techniques are used to relieve pain and improve function. Pain medication and anti-inflammatory drugs may be prescribed. If necessary, injections of cortisone or hyaluronic acid are given into the affected joints.
Ergonomic advice and aids such as orthoses or insoles may also be part of the treatment. In more severe cases, when conservative measures are not sufficient, surgical intervention may be necessary to restore mobility or to eliminate the cause of the pain.
The costs for an orthopaedist vary, usually between 80 and 200 euros per appointment.
